Beyond tThe Silence is an American Thriller, starring JD Williams, Usman Shariff, Bill Cobbs, Bill Dukes, Loretta Holloway, and Frankie Faison. It’s a story of a young cocky Lead Prosecutor “Toby Johnson” who is personally challenged when he has to prosecute a defendant “Billy Ray Michaels” Usman Shariff who suffers from Mental Illness and has committed a crime in which he doesn’t remember committing. Toby seeks counsel from his father, “Ret. Judge Johnson” Bill Cobbs who discredits the defense of mental illness. An overzealous “Mayor Goode” Frankie Faison who is in the midst of a reelection battle, applies pressure for a win in the case to the Prosecutor’s Office under the leadership “Adam Stevenson” Bill Duke. This feature has many twist and turns. It’s a great movie that brings attention to the plight of Mental Illness in our community.
